When home skin care products are no longer proving effective, but you don't want surgery, learn more about nonsurgical skin rejuvenation treatments, such as microneedling. Nikki Brueggemann is happy to offer Rejuvapen® microneedling (also known as collagen induction therapy) at her office in Washington, MO. Rejuvapen microneedling uses many fine-gauge needles to effectively and safely create micro-injuries in the skin. The micro-injuries prompt the natural production of collagen and elastin, two nutrients which enhance your skin's overall health and appearance. Microneedling may help minimize scars, stretch marks, and pores. You can make an appointment for a consultation at Washington Skin Solutions to hear more about the results of microneedling and ways to personalize your procedure for your needs and goals.

At Washington Skin Solutions, we recommend microneedling for individuals who are interested in the following benefits:

  • Low-risk, nonsurgical treatments
  • Reduction of scars, pigmentation problems, or stretch marks
  • Improved skin texture and appearance
  • Diminished look of creases, fine lines, and signs of aging

It's possible you may benefit from microneedling treatments if you experience light or mild complexion problems, like rough skin texture or low elasticity. Microneedling can also improve the look of scars, pores, and stretch marks. It will take time to see improvements from your procedure since the elastin and collagen require time to affect the complexion, but you will develop results that look natural and gain better overall skin health.

A Rejuvapen microneedling treatment is performed in a private treatment room for around 30 – 60 minutes with numbing cream to ease discomfort. The skin being addressed will be cleaned before the Rejuvapen microneedling handpiece is passed evenly over.  After the microneedling is performed, a calming cream will be massaged into the skin.

I had a dermaplane and micro done by Natalie yesterday. This was the best treatment I've ever received. She was so kind, took her time, and spoiled my skin through the process. looking forward to my next appointment!

Is microneedling safe for everyone?

For the most part, microneedling is appropriate for all skin types and tones. Skin injuries created by microneedling are so minor that there are usually limited or no side effects after the treatment. Microneedling can be performed on most areas of skin, including the arms, face, neck, chest, and legs. Microneedling is not recommended if you have been on Accutane within the last 2 – 3 months, or if you have an active skin infection, the herpes simplex virus, or an open wound. Additionally, you may not be able to get microneedling if you are nursing, pregnant, or undergoing radiation therapy.
